I want to start drinking more smoothies either fruit ones or protein ones. Just need a little something before workouts etc Even possibly at breakfast but need suggestions.

Can you give me the recipes for the best ones you've found or created?

  1. The simple yet yummy one I've done is a frozen banana, handful of baby spinach, and strawberries. Yum:-) You can add yogurt or protein mixes if you want that in there but I usually just do the fruit/veggies and sometimes a little honey.

  2. 1 large or 2 medium navel oranges, 2 cups spinach, 1 container yogurt (any flavor). If the oranges haven't been refrigerated, I add a few ice cubes - otherwise not. It is a delicious green smoothie. I make it and sip on it while I get ready for work in the morning. Sometimes I add a banana just to jazz it up, more nutrients and more sweetness. SO GOOD!

  3. I love my green monster smoothie: 2tbsp greek yogurt, handful baby spinach, frozen strwbry, frozen mango chunks, 1/4 cup steel cut oats, little honey, almond milk to fill the gaps. It is great after a hard workout! Also if you are looking for good protein shakes, Advocare has the best tasting meal replacement shakes I've tasted. I make my husband (who doesn't like fruit) a peanutbutter/choc/banana smoothie with Greek yogurt, a banana, tsp natural pb, scoop choc protein powder and ice and water to fill the gaps.

  5. I dont really use a recipe for most of mine. I take handfuls of frozen berries, bananas, whey powder, milk, yogurt, ice, and some spinach, and blend.

  8. I suggest sticking with the whole food shakes unless you're working for more than 2 hours a day and not eating a sufficient amount of meat in your meals. If you do decide to try the protein I seriously suggest researching it, bodybuilding.com is a good place to start. I think protein in excess can be detrimental to weight loss.

  10. I use Amazing Meal every morning. It is a raw/whole food/protein mixture and get it at Whole Foods. I use the Chocolate Infusion one. I make it with one scoop, 8-10 oz of unsweetened Vanilla almond milk and 1/2 banana. I do it every morning before my cardio workout and love it.

I also have a vitamix and will sometimes do a blender full of greens, greek yogurt, a little water, and frozen berries. Very yummy!
